XNode Announced as Location of Shanghai's Australian Landing Pad
XNode is proud to have been chosen to work with Austrade landing pad, and is looking forward to helping talented Australian start-ups grow their businesses on a global scale. XNode provides creative work spaces built with start-ups in mind. Coupled with our community of entrepreneurs, professional resources and tailor-made program, we've cultivated the ideal environment for these companies to launch their businessesin China.

The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) has officially opened the Australian Government’s Landing Pad at co-working space XNode in Shanghai.

The Australian Landing Pad at XNode will provide a base for startups looking to expand into China, the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.  XNode brings together local and international startups into one community.

Landing Pad participants will have access to XNode's ‘Xelerator’ program, which focuses on investor pitch training, demo days and mentorship from some of China’s top business people.

Austrade’s Senior Trade Commissioner in China, Michael Clifton, said the Landing Pad will foster new opportunities for Australian startups in China.  Participants will have access to a diverse ecosystem of high-tech parks, entrepreneurs, investors, regulators and potential customers in Shanghai.

“The city’s well-established innovation ecosystem includes extensive venture capital networks, a sophisticated financial services sector and a legal and business advisory support system, providing genuine international reach,” Mr Clifton said.

XNode CEO, Zhou Wei, said XNode is proud to have been chosen to work with Austrade and looks forward to helping talented Australian startups grow their businesses, using Shanghai as a springboard from which to internationalise.

“XNode provides creative workspaces designed with startups in mind, this together with our community of entrepreneurs, professional resources and tailor-made programs, we've cultivated the ideal environment for these companies to explore their potential,” said Mr Zhou.

Austrade Landing Pad Manager Daniel Zhan will help participants identify partners, access mentors and investors, and navigate the local regulatory and business environment.

Australia’s Consul General to Shanghai, Graeme Meehan, said the Shanghai Landing Pad provides a space for Australian startups to grow, exchange ideas, network and connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and successful businesspeople. The initiative will help build the profile of Australia as an innovative nation.

Note: The Shanghai Landing Pad is the third of five Landing Pads announced by the Australian Government as part of its National Innovation and Science Agenda, designed to help Australian entrepreneurs bring their ideas to market and build high-growth and high-return enterprises. Landing Pads are located in global innovation hotspots – San Francisco, Berlin, Shanghai, Tel Aviv and Singapore.
