Last night we privilege to hold the Monthly Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Workshop, welcoming some of the biggest names in the Shanghai entrepreneurial world to our XNode space in Jing’an. I think it goes without saying, we were pretty excited to host them.
The workshop was led by Steve Sammartino, an expert on how technology is changing the world of business. He focused on the idea of an “MVP” or Minimum Viable Product, which is to bring to market the minimum product you need to satisfy the markets demand. The idea is simple, use the incredible resources available through the internet and technology to spend as little time and money as possible to create a product. If it fails, you move on and try again with the next idea, and guess what, you’ve barely wasted any time or money.
Steve also spoke about how the future of business is moving from massive corporations to companies as small as 3 people. “All you need to run a business nowadays is the 3 H’s, a Hustler, a Hipster a Hacker.” A hipster to connect people to the idea and make it feel good for people through design. A hacker to handle the tech based portion of the business. Last, but certainly not least, a hustler to convince people why your product is important by pitching to consumers and investors alike. Its all about bringing like-minded people together with the same goal and different strengths and weaknesses to create something great.
The workshop went on for about 4 hours, though it certainly didn’t feel that long. Steve was a compelling speaker that kept the audience engaged and involved throughout. It was a pleasure having Steve and EO Shanghai chapter members in XNode space. As a co-working space and accelerator that aims to bring people together, we couldn’t be happier to hear our vision validated by his thoughts on the future of business.
